Bob draws a line segment AB and draws a perpendicular line that intersects AB at C. He places the compass at C and draws an arc from B to A. He plots point D on the perpendicular line and on the arc. What triangle did Bob construct with the points C, B, and D? An obtuse triangle because the measure of one angle is 90˚. An acute triangle because two angles measure less than 90˚. A right scalene triangle because one angle measures 90˚ and all sides are of different lengths. A right isosceles triangle because one angle measures 90˚ and at least two sides are congruent.
