im thinking its constructing the perpendicular cuz u normally use a perpendicular line to draw right angled traingles

u can work with A because it kinda divides line XY in half it could be plotting points Q and R i dont c how they can form an iscoseles traingle sorry i think u need to confirm with someone else :)
