The figure below shows a transversal t which intersects the parallel lines PQ and RS. Write a paragraph to prove that the measure of angle 4 is equal to the measure of angle 8. http://learn.flvs.net/webdav/assessment_images/educator_geometry_v14/pool_Geom_3641_0908_14/image0034e7349ab.jpg

@Nali

Does this sound right? It is given that transversal t intersects parallel lines PQ and RS. You know angle 1 and angle 4 equal 180 using the definition of supplementary angles. Angle 5 and angle 8 equal 180 using the definition of supplementary angles. Angle 1 and angle five are the same measure using the corresponding angles postulate. Therefore, angle 4 and angle 8 are of equal measure.

OpenStudy (nali):

yes i think this so sounds really convincing :))

OpenStudy (nali):

good job

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are the postulates and theorems used correct?

OpenStudy (nali):

yeah i will check just give me a minute

OpenStudy (nali):

yeah u r right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much!

OpenStudy (nali):

just add therefore the corresponding angles 4 and 8 are equal

OpenStudy (nali):

at the end
