Hey guys so I'm taking Linear Algebra right now and struggling with wrapping my head around some of the definitions. Would anyone be willing just to have a conversation with me about the concepts in the class to make sure I understand?
ok
alright thank you! ok so its a summer class so we are not able to actually get through a lot of it. But so far we have gotten to linear functions
so i guess my first question is what exactly is the difference between a span and linear indepencence? i know how you test them but im unsure what the difference is
like does linear indepencence tell you anyting about when you look at a graph like the span does?
sorry i am not familliar with the word span ...
we were told that it was "if S is a subset of vector space V, then the smallest subspace of V that contains S is called the span of S"
