Possible things to investigate:
- Biota in the surrounding forest, particularly if there are any threatened species in the area, if destroying the forest will affect a keystone species essential to surrounding area ..
I believe that is the extent of it, unless you want to go into the effects of urbanization on groundwater and whatnot :)
