Identify the type of function represented by each equation. y= 3[x] y= 3x^2 y=2.5x y=-1.5 y= 4/x are they Greatest Integer, Joint ,Quadratic, Inverse Variation ,Constant, Direct Variation please help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First is greatest integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

great, quadratic, direct, constant, inverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a quadratic has the variable raised to the second power

OpenStudy (anonymous):

constant has no variable

OpenStudy (anonymous):

inverse has the variable in the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. [x] represents the Greatest Integer, so first one is Greatest Integer.. 2. \(x^2\) means degree = 2, Polynomials having degree 2 are called Quadratic.. 3. y = 2.5x Here as Y increases or decreases similarly x increases or decreases, so this function is called Direct Variation.. 4. y = -1.5, here -1.5 is constant, So This is constant.. 5. \(y = \frac{4}{x}\) , here as y increases then x decreases and vice-versa, so this is inverse variation..
