Rewrite the number in scientific notation: 1042 what bout that one
For the first one you move the decimal place to the right twice. Since you need to make the number smaller with the scientific notation, your answer will be 2 x 10^-2 As for 1042 you'll have 1.042 x 10^3, since you have to move the decimal so there's only one number before it. Since you moved it three times to the left, the power will be positive, thus 10^3.
