Which of the following is a subset of the set A: {integers divisible by 2 from 2 to 20} {24, 26, 28} {4, 6, 8, 10} {integers divisible by 4 from 2 to 40} {0, 2, 4, 6 …}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What are the integers from 2 to 20 that are divisible by 2... tell me??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2,4,6,8,10,12,14,16,18,20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that answers not up there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now check for first.. are 24 28 are coming in this integer set??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're in good hands.... like Allstate....:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

See your integer set: 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 Can you tell me if 24 and 28 are coming in this set??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well... yes but it doesnt ask for those, it just says to 20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you tell me by looking at the choices that what are the choices which have values lying in this integer set??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 6 8 and 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well done..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

See, What is the concept of subset?? If a set is given like this: A = {1, 4, 6, 8, 10} Then its subset will have these values only and not have any value outside from it.. So, {1,4}, (4,6} like wise you can make number of subsets.. But remember subset can only have values lying in the original set and not outside values..
