Solve -4x > 12.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

divide both sides by -4 :)

don't forget whenever dealing with inequalities, if you multiply/divide by a negative number, you need to reverse the direction of the inequality...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To solve you would want to get x alone. The only way to get x alone is to move the -4. Since it says -4 times x, you would divide by -4. Since you divide by a negative, the inequality sign should flip I think. So x < -3. Correct me if I am wrong.

x < -3 you need to reverse the inequality sign when you multiply or divide by a negative number.

thank u guys(:
