studying for my final please help me! I do not understand sequences at all. for each sequence, find an expression for an and indicate if the sequence is arithmetic, geometric or neither. a) 4/3,-5/4, 6/5,-7/6… b) 96, 48, 24, 12… c) 5, 9, 13, 17...
i do have the answers to the problems just don't know how to get it.
a) [(-1)^n-1](n/n-1) where n is 3+i where i is the xth term its not arithmetic because arithmetic means you add a number to get the next term its not geometric because that means you need to multiply some number to get the next term
thank you, can you please explain to me how you figured out that equation? we went through this section so fast that i really don't understand sequences at all.
i just kind of looked at it and noticed the changes that occur between each term, because it alternates between positive and negative, that means there must be (-1)^n where n is the term number then i just looked at the fractions and noticed that the numerator was always one more than the denominator also that both the numerator and denominator are increasing by one for each term
oh ok thank you so much for your help :)
