OpenStudy (amistre64):

youre going to want to cross multiply and work out the quadratic

OpenStudy (amistre64):

err, it aint quadratic, its linear ... so its even better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats the usual method tho, cross then solve another idea tho is this: \[\frac{30}y=\frac{55}{y+5}\] \[\frac{y+5}y=\frac{55}{30}\] \[\frac yy+\frac5y=\frac{55}{30}\] \[1+\frac5y=\frac{55}{30}\] \[\frac5y=\frac{55}{30}-\frac{30}{30}\] \[\frac1y=\frac15(\frac{55}{30}-\frac{30}{30})\] then flip the results :)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

with any luck, y=6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats right! thanks!

OpenStudy (amistre64):
