What are the missing measures?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50 , 100 75, 150 100, 150 122, 183

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

All angles in a hexagon add to 720 degrees So 2x+100 + 3x+120+115+135 = 720 Solve that for x. Then use the solution for x to find the missing angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

umm.. i have no idea

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

100+120+115+135 = ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

470?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

and 2x+3x = ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

So 2x+100 + 3x+120+115+135 = 720 becomes 5x+470 = 720

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Then what's next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idont know..

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Subtract 470 from both sides 5x+470 = 720 5x+470-470 = 720-470 5x = 250 Then divide both sides by 5 to completely isolate x 5x = 250 5x/5 = 250/5 x = 50 So because x is 50, 2x must be 100 and 3x must be 150 So the missing angles are 100 and 150 degrees
