new to programming but enthusiastic to learn where do i start from

choose a language that you interested in (but I think python is the best choice for newbie), then search for some tutorials online, learn some basics and pratice :) Good luck

it depends on what you want to do, for a newbie python or php are two good choices

I found the programming methodology from Standford as a good for start. http://see.stanford.edu/see/courseinfo.aspx?coll=824a47e1-135f-4508-a5aa-866adcae1111 although they use JAVA there as the language, the explanation and logic are very good. It could have been better with python. Although MIT 6.00 is good , but it jumps right into algorithms, which may hard for a person who is a newbie.

channel newboston from youtube has some video tutorial on python which are quite decent to start with. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLEA1FEF17E1E5C0DA&feature=plcp
