Julie thinks that if you double the radius of the sphere with r=7cm, the surface area will double, Is she right?, Why? PLS HELP

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Nope, she's wrong.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pls prove

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

There's a formula: A = (L)^2

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Area is directly proportional to the square of side. So now if the length is doubled, the area will be 4 times of the original area.

thanks ^^

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

I can prove that algebraically as well. But i'm not sure you are going to get that.
