how do you solve -8 < 5x + 7 < 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u need to isolate x here. so first, from 5x+7, we need to remove 7. so subtract 7 all throughout.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so u'll get, -8-7 < 5x + 7 - 7 < 12 - 7 = -15 < 5x < 5 now u still have 5 in 5x. try isolating it.
