.Choose the equation of the line passing through the point (1, -5) and parallel to y = 2x + 4. y = -2x + 7 y = 2x - 3 y = 2x - 7 y = -2x + 3

y = 2x - 7 Care for an explanation?

no :) please show me

First note that the problem says that y = 2x + 4 is parallel to the line you're searching for. That means the slope of the line you're searching for is equal to the slope of the given formula: 2. You can eliminate the first and fourth choices from your multiple selection because they have negative slopes. Next, plug in 1 for the x and see which of the two remaining formulas give -5 as the answer. Only y = 2x -7 does and that's your answer.
