(comparison) Apartheid like Jim crow(the name of unfair African american treatment after slavery was abolished) treated both African Americans and the blacks of southern Africa as second class citizens(or not even citizens at all) often times stripping rights(like voting in the United States and The Bantu Authorities Act of 1951 created separate government structures for blacks. It was the first piece of legislation established to support the government's plan of separate development in the Bantustans(a territory set aside for black inhabitants of South Africa).) A second comparison is the sway towards segregation in both countries. Example of these include the supreme court's 'Seprete but equal" doctrine before the famed Plessy v. Ferguson case. Examples for South Africa include An amendment to the Prohibition of Mixed Marriages Act of 1949 prohibited marriage between persons of different races.) These a short and rounded out answers meant to give a stark comparison. Sadly i cant think of any contrasts at the time.
