find values m and b so that y =mx+b models the monthly costs of driving the car x miles, what does the value of b represent, m=?, b=?
find values m and b so that y =mx+b models the monthly costs of driving the car x miles, what does the value of b represent, m=?, b=?
anyone?
@Zephious we have \[y=mx+b\] y= monthly cost of the car, if you put x=0 then we'll get y=b Do you get this?
a little lost sorry
If you put x=0, what do you get?
monthly cost =b?
yeah so b represents the cost even if the car is stand still
now assume that it costs 179.10 per month for insurance and car payments, and 45 cents per mile for gas etc ....
then b=179.10 ( fixed cost per month) and m= 0.45 ( cost per mile)
that was alot easier to figure out than i thought, algebra can be tricky lol
You just have to try, it's easy:)
Math to me is like the bubonic plague, lol
