OpenStudy (anonymous):
prove using mathematical induction \[x ^{n} - y^{n} = (x-y)(x^{n-1} + x^{n-2}y +.....+ xy^{n-2} + y^{n-1}\] I'm not even able to prove it true for n =1 . How could one reduce the term in the second bracket to 1 ?
