OpenStudy (lukecrayonz):

log(x-3)=2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First change it to exponential form. \[10^2 = x - 3\]Can you solve for x?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

\[\log (x-3) = 2\] it is implicit when given this kind of thing that the base is 10 so \[\log_{10} (x-3) = 2\] now change to exponential \[10^2 = x - 3\] expand \[100 = x - 3\] add 3 to both sides \[100 + 3 = x\]
