u have to move the 2 to the other side by adding 2 to both sides

because this as an absolute value then it has two answers so u have to equal it to -9 and 9

like the following

|x – 4| – 2 > 7
|x – 4| > 9
x - 4 > 9 or x - 4 < -9

and then u solve each equaiton independetly

x > 13 or x < -5
