Decide whether the function 4x^2 + 9x^3 − 5^x is a polynomial function. If so, write it in standard form and state its degree, type, and leading coefficient. I'm not sure if this is technically considered a polynomial because there is an exponential term within the equation? Any help is appreciated :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A polynomial in its standard form includes exponents right, but the exponent are \( \in \mathbb{N}\) read your function again and identify the exponents.

All polynomials have non-negative integers as the exponents. because of that trailing term, this is not a polynomial.
