Does 7.012 still ever offer the "voluntary laboratory" portion of the course? I'm just doing the lectures and the readings on my own but it says in the syllabus that there is a voluntary lab component. Does anyone know?

It would probably only be available to MIT students enrolled in the actual 7.012 class, rather than people using the OCW materials on their own (OCW does not actually offer "classes", just materials *from* their classes).

The 7.012 lectures are incredibly awesome just on their own though. I supplemented them with the Alberts textbook The Molecular Biology of the Cell (5th ed.) and its associated Problems book which together are an amazing source of information.
