Which of the following is the best definition of destructive interference? A) the blocking of one wave by another B) the formation of a standing wave C) the cancelling of one wave by another D) the addition of one wave to another

OpenStudy (radar):

D. When adding, waves that are out of phase is actually a subtractive process. I would of rather seen D. Combining of one wave with another.

OpenStudy (radar):

C. Looks good, but leaves a lot to the imagination. Adding or combining of waves that are equal and opposite in phase is like canceling.
