helppp log 3 5 + log 3 x = log 3 10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

start reading about logarithms :) http://www.purplemath.com/modules/logs.htm

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

\[\log_{3}{5}+\log_{3}{x}=\log_{3}{10}\]\[\log_{3}{5x}=\log_{3}{10}\]\[\implies 5x=10=>x=2\]

i did

OpenStudy (jiteshmeghwal9):

use the properties to solve the logarithms question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

+ is to multiply; - is to divide

OpenStudy (anonymous):

since all the given logs have the same base_3, you can ignore all of them and you will be left out with 5x=10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so what do i do when im left with 5x=10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look for the value of x by dividing both sides by 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=2
