That the president is still a civilian like everyone else that is the point of having a president. A president is one of us, thats america we elect someone just like the simple man maybe smarter.

That's pretty much it. 

Even the President isn't above the law. As powerful as the office is, it's still subject to the same laws that bind you and me. That's a concept that goes back centuries to something such as the Magna Carta which dared to make the King of England subject to the laws of the land.
