if pushing my chair from A to B is the action, what is the reaction?

OpenStudy (dls):

Overcoming friction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no, i meant that if the force that is pushing my chair is the action.......

OpenStudy (dls):

friction is opposing it as a part of reaction, like when you walk the ground puts an equal reaction on your feet and hence you are able to walk Co-relate :)

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

The chair resisting your push. You can feel the effect of that reaction on your hands.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought so. Thank you Mr.Vincent.

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

"Overcoming friction" is a consequence of the motion, not THE reaction in terms of Newton's 3rd law.

OpenStudy (vincent-lyon.fr):

yw :)
