whats the difference between an siRNA and antisense RNA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Antisense physically interferes with the machinery and halts translation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

antisense RNA is also single stranded and complements the messenger RNA while siRNA is double stranded. More to come...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Antisense RNA is a single-stranded RNA that is complementary to mRNA. Antisense RNA can inhibit translation of a complementary mRNA by pair-pairing to it and physically obstructing translation machinery. siRNA is a double-stranded RNA, also known as silencing RNA.One of siRNA roles is involve in RNAi pathway. It interferes with the expression of specific genes with complementary nucleotide sequences.
