In order to gain the support of the Russian people, Lenin promised to give land to the rich. take control of the factories. expand the Russian territory. return power to the tsars.

OpenStudy (turingtest):

seeing as how Lenin was a Marxist, you should be able to rule out two choices right away

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B, And C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wait, flip that

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yeah that's about as far as I get as well... I'm not sure if it is both or not frankly, but it certainly is not A or D you'll have to wait for someone who actually knows history for a better answer :p

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you know anyone? if you do can you tag them?:D

OpenStudy (turingtest):

not really, sorry this is not one of the most active sections...

OpenStudy (turingtest):

for instance the 6 or 7 questions below yours are still unanswered... you may have to wait more than a day to get a really good answer, so please try to be patient.

Crap.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think its "take control of the factories"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd probably go with "take control of the factories" which he actually followed through on once he and the Communists gained control over the government. The other reasons on the list don't make much sense considering what Lenin and his fellows railed against during the Revolution. TuringTest is right on when saying that A and D don't make sense. "Give land to the rich" was certainly out. "Returning power to the tsars" was definitely not on their agenda when considering what happened to the Romanovs. "expand Russian territory" would also be out. Under Tsar Nicholas II, Russia became involved in WW1 which was extremely unpopular and acted as a catalyst for Lenin's rise to power. The people didn't want war, they wanted a government that would provide for their needs and was effective.

Thanks! Thats what i was thinking to and also thanks for explaining it! :D
