A force of 20 newtons is exerted on a chair from its right and a force of 12 newtons is applied from its left. What is the net force acting on the chair and in what direction will the chair tend to move?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

total force acting would be 20+12 newton and direction may be calculated from 20n from right and 12n from left so 20n-12n=8n towards right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Force is expressed in terms vectors, so its direction is part of its value. Saying the total force is 20 + 12 is not correct.

ohk i see typo it is - dear
