Nancy drew parallelogram ABCD as shown. On the same grid she will draw parallelogram PQRS similar to parallelogram ABCD with the ratio of corresponding side lengths PQ and AB equal to 4 : 1. If the coordinates of vertex P are (-8, -5), what could be the coordinates of vertex Q? (4, 6) (-4, -1) (0, -5) (8, -5)

OpenStudy (nali):

PQ : AB 4 : 1 P = (-8,-5) Q =(x,y) A =(4,6) B = (8,6) since there is a ratio between both lengths we try to find the length of AB since we have two points For AB they y is the same so we look at teh x value and find the lenth from that 8-4 = 4 that means that AB= 4 so using ratios PQ/AB = 4/1 = X/4 AND SOLVE FOR X TO FIND THE LENGH

OpenStudy (nali):

|dw:1343257284936:dw| SO THE LENGTH OF pq is 16
