Keith is observing a slide of an amoeba under a compound microscope. He places a stained fine particle of yeast near the amoeba. He observes that the amoeba is engulfing this particle by extending its pseudopodia. Which process is the amoeba exhibiting? a.)pinocytosis b.) exocytosis c.) phagocytosis d.) receptor mediated endocytosis

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

a.)pinocytosis is a form of endocytosis in which small particles are brought into the cell b.) exocytosis is when a cell directs the contents of vesicles out of the cell membrane c.) phagocytosis is a specific form of endocytosis involving the vesicular internalization of solids such as bacteria d.) receptor mediated endocytosis is a process by which cells internalize molecules by the inward budding (or forming a surrounding blob of plasma membrane) So since the yeast would be considered solid, I'd say it would best fit phagocytosis
