A scientific law states that planets move in elliptical orbits around stars. Which of these statements is correct about this law? It is not strengthened by data and observations. It provides explanations for observations which can change. It is a well supported description which cannot become a theory. It can change from time to time due to new scientific evidence.

I believe the best answer here is the second one...essentially because laws are based on observations.
