"Find x > 3 such that ln(x) < x^(0.1)"

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

can x be all real number?

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

it doesnt seem possible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 3.05

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like this \[\ln(x) < x^{0.1}\] Welcome tu open study ! and try use your equation editor !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Am I right?

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

yaaaaaa

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

how did u figure that out?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IT didn't say that x had to be an integer...

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

true so u just used trial and error or a method?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got X = 3.0597 also. I graphed ln(x) and x^.1 and then looked for the interesection which was (3.0597, 1.1183). Therefore, isn't 3.05 the answer?

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

yaaa i was just wondering lol its correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

the answer shld really be \( 3<x \le 3.0597262 \)

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

whooopppps it should really be \( 3<x<3.0597262 \)

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

since from 3 till that point ln(x) is less than x^.01 It is an interval

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is an inequality ! probably ! the solution isn't just the intersection !

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

The guy has disappeared lol. Too bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just me and you ! :)

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

I hope he reappears

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YO I GOT IT WRONG

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

Well u left way tooo fast

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

a second later i corrected myself read the post

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well thanks I guess...

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

I am sorry :\

OpenStudy (swissgirl):

I really feel bad abt it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Naww, it's okay...

OpenStudy (swissgirl):
