From the figure.. |dw:1343405377154:dw| Pythagoras therom says.. " Sum of square of two perpendicular sides is equal to square of third side.. i.e. Hypotaneous.." So, from the figure... \[a ^{2} + c ^{2} = b ^{2}....\]
