N=constant conversion rate of X number of people, and D=constant conversion rate of Y number of people... Also: adding NX and YD at a ratio that always adds up to 1 to equal B. How do you solve for X and Y. Currently I have: RNX + (1-R)(DY)=B Depending on the ratio = how do I solve for Y and X when knowing B,N,and D?
You have one equation and two variables you want to solve for, so that is impossible you can solve for either X or Y and one will be a function of the other, but that is all
in other words knowing B,N, and D will not tell you X and Y if you had another equation (or statement that could be made into an equation) to go along with this one then we could possibly solve the system for both X and Y simultaneously
Yes, though X and Y will also always be a ratio of B since they will always add to equal B. Does that help any?
I thought that was covered by the statement you wrote: RNX + (1-R)(DY)=B if X+Y=B as well we can solve it is the sum of the number of people always constant?
Oh no - your right - the X and Y will change according to the ratios + conatstants entered. Blerg. Ok, thank you so much!
welcome :)
