HELP! with calculating points on test!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i just took a test, and it's said 46 points plus 4 points bonus....so how many points are each question worth? and let say if i miss 10 question how many points would i have?

OpenStudy (phi):

depends on how many questions. If there was 1 question, it was worth 46 points.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yeah sorry, it was 50 questions test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I assume that the 50 questions include the 4 bonus points, so it could be that 1 question is worth one point, but since they are bonus points, it would be logical if they are worth a bit more \[ \frac{50}{46}= \frac{25}{23}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we never have bonus points here, so I am a bit confused with that )= Sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhhh let just leave out the bonus point thing, and just calculate the 46 points out of 50 questions, how would i do that ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let say i missed 10 questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

50 questions are worth 46 points, it is linear therefore, you can either use a linear equation and match it to one or you can use: \[ \frac{46}{50}\] that would be the worth of one question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and you say you missed approximately 10 questions, that means you have 40 of 50 correct, so multiply that by 40, will get you your points.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

36.8 Points
