Can anybody tell me... if the value of gravity reduces, then what will happen to the vibrations of a simple pendulum. remain the same Increase decrease. please tell me.

OpenStudy (waleed_imtiaz):

@ten , @Shane_B anybody plz help me in my preparations, I am new here...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For a pendulum, the time for a swing is T = 2 pi (L/g)^1/2 Smaller gravity equals longer time. For the amount it swings, sorry I'm stuck for a minute!

OpenStudy (shane_b):

If you decrease the amount of gravity the restoring force will decrease...increasing the period of the motion.

OpenStudy (waleed_imtiaz):

I am thinking that If the time period increase, then the oscillations should become slow...... mean the vibrations decreses... Plz anybody confirm it. I am not sure....

OpenStudy (shane_b):

That's correct..the period will increase and the oscillations will thereby slow down.

OpenStudy (waleed_imtiaz):

Thank you shane..

OpenStudy (shane_b):

no problemo :)
