The figure below shows two similar pictures that Gina wants to frame. Gina has 2 strips of unfinished molding that she wants to use to frame the two pictures. Each strip is 36 inches long. Assuming there is no wastage or overlap of molding, what is the minimum length of molding Gina still requires to frame both the pictures? Show your work and explain your reasoning in complete sentences.

HELP PLZZZZZZZZZZZ

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

well sinc the two pictures are similar the corresponding sides will be in the same ratio so 13/32.5 = 15 / x x =( 15 8 32.5) / 13 this gives you the length of the larger picture so you can now calculate the perimeters of the 2 pictures = 2(13) + 2(15) + 2(32.5) + 2(x) and this will be the minimum length of moulding required

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

* x = (15 * 32.5) / 13
