]A group of scientists have discovered a new object in the Kuiper belt. The characteristics of the object are shown in the chart below. Characteristics of the object Gaseous in composition Almost five times the size of Pluto Revolves around the Sun Which of these conclusions is most likely correct about the object? It is five times warmer than Pluto. It is an outer planet beyond Neptune. It reduces the gravitational effect of Pluto. It is a meteorite which strayed towards the outer planets.
Most likey D, but it could also be B at the same time.
-_-
Well, I am conceding the possiblity of error, although I think it is unlikely.
I can only choose one
It is most likely D. I will not give a definitve answer, because that would mean that you would be listening tome implicitly.
to me*
If it is 5 times larger than Pluto, it might be considered a planet. And it's beyond Neptune. Good luck with this one!
This article discusses why Pluto is no longer considered a planet: http://news.discovery.com/space/pluto-planet-new-moon-status-110726.html The third criteria is that is has to clear its orbit of all other objects of comparable size. Pluto has other stuff in its orbital path. An object 5 times larger might have cleared its own orbital path, but your problem doesn't give that information.
One more thing: A meteorite is an object, usually an asteroid, which has hit the Earth.
You can basically eliminate every answer but B...despite the fact that it doesn't say whether it cleared its orbit of neighboring objects. All of the other answers are not possible.
the information provided are not enough to give a conclusion , but it may be a object which effect gravitationally on Pluto
