Is anyone able to HELP ME?! I need to find information online but I've been researching and haven't found anything useful :( "Investigate the history of the fundamental, quotient, and Pythagorean identities. You will need to search the Web to research the origins of these identities. How were they initially developed? Who is credited with using them first? What applications were the identities used for in ancient times? Are there identities other than the eight mentioned? What are they?"

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

you mean the history of, say \[ \large \sin^2x+\cos^2x=1 \]

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

but this is a Pythagorean identity!

I'm in PreCalculus. :( This assignment is impossible. No matter what I type into Google I can't seem to find info. on the HISTORY of the identities.

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

when u say "fundamental" u mean what exactly?

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

u mention 8 identities. which are they. that might give me a clue to where to look for

OpenStudy (helder_edwin):

@IloveCharlie r u there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm... Yes. I'm doing more research. It doesn't seem to help any though. Thanks for the advice though :) I really appreciate it.
