factor by grouping 3v^2+10v+8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

8x3=24 6+4=10 3v^2+6v+4v+8 Now separate those four into two groups (by grouping) Factor out the 3v from the first two terms 3v(v+2) Then factor out the 4 from the next two terms 4(v+2) Answer: (3v+4)(v+2)

It says that is incorrect. I'm sorry normaly i can do algebra by myself but i am sick have 3 kids and work full time and can not focus tonight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's correct because if you re-foil the (3v+4)(v+2) you get the original problem which was 3v^2+10v+8.
