I want to create a study group that provides help to coursera subjects like Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Computation. how to do that? Will anyone create that for me???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey @anupadkh! Welcome to OpenStudy. We actually have moderators, which are people with purple, and it's up to them what new subjects are created. There has to be enough want/need from other users for them to make an official group. I don't know if you've gone through it or not yet, but in the upper left there is a button that says "Find More Subjects" that you can look through. :) Good Luck!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

admins* not moderators...moderators dont have the power...just admins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rebeccaskell94 Well I have gone through the blue line and have browsed all the options only to my disappointment of not finding one related to this subject. Well, many students take an open study course and they need online group for the group study. I don't doubt that many will request for it. Maybe you can help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, I can try to see if other users on here will use this group. Beyond that, honestly, I'm just another user. I'll go ask them now. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@rebeccaskell94 @lgbasallote thanks for your help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem! Any time :) I just asked people in chat.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

YES YES YES!!! Quantum mechanics is an awesome subject.

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

im gonna say yes too for the sake of the addition of another subject :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The subject is just so interested and I bet it could attract a lot of people. It's also a good way to show people who are curious in possibly studying that subject to see if it's something that they really want to do.

OpenStudy (wach):

I love what Coursera offers and am interested in this.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think we should add a "Lunchtime" subject :D or "Recess"

OpenStudy (blues):

I also am in the QMQC class. Of course Coursera does have a discussion forum for us there; however, OpenStudy could be much better integrated with the big online education sites. Not that we could hold discussions about quanta and qubits there, you might wish to check out the MIT OCW 6.002 forum. It was an interesting study while MITx 6.002x (which I and a number of other regulars on OS took, and possibly you too?) was running...

OpenStudy (farmdawgnation):

This sounds like a @cshalvey question.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, hi everyone. Thanks for the suggestion @anupadkh! So, when it comes to adding new groups it all comes down to user demand. If enough users want to study a subject, then by all means we add it. The concern is, if we create a group with very few members/activity - it really doesn't end up helping people at all. So, if enough people are interested we can definitely add it, if not, I'm sure you can find people who can help/discuss this topic in another group (perhaps Physics?). Let me know your thoughts, thanks!
