Select the list that shows the numbers in order from least to greatest. Select one of the options below as your answer: A. 0.402 0.42 0.375 1.2 0.85 B. 1.2 0.85 0.402 0.375 0.42 C. 0.375 0.402 0.42 0.85 1.2 D. 0.402 0.375 0.42 0.402 1.2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok I've got the answer but what don't u understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

least(smallest) to greatest(highest)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know which one it is now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope, we want smallest to largest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so we would start with 0.375

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no guessing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you understand the term smallest to largest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ok D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AND YES

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lets say I give you these numbers 3,7,9 which one is the smallest and which one is the largest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3 and 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so apply the same concept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to your original question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but thats not easyyy... they are going by decimals

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, in terms of decimal, when the number gets closer to 1 than it means that the number is higher than the another.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example, 0.402 and 4.42 (4.420), which one is closer to one(1.0)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the second one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, exactly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so can u try figure it out now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nononono.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, I will tell you the answer, but make sure u understand it, because clearly u have some issues understanding it at the moment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is C: 0.375 0.402 0.42 0.85 1.2 why? because they all contain the same numbers obviously and 0.375 is lowest of them all, 0.402 is lower than 0.42 as you figured before, 0.85 and then to the last one 1.2 which is the highest.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow ok whatever,,,,,,,,, but thanks!!!!:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u need to understand it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe try something like this, http://www.mathsisfun.com/ordering_decimals.html

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.
