A rocket is launched from ground level with an initial vertical velocity (v0) of 176 ft/s. After how many seconds will the rocket hit the ground? (Hint: h(t) = -16t2 + v0t + h0). __________ s. Enter a number only.

OpenStudy (shane_b):

\[h(t)=-16t^2+v_0t+h_0\]Plug in the values you were given: \[h(t)=-16t^2+(176ft/s0m/s)t+0m\]All you have to do is solve for t. You will get two answers...one will be 0 and the other will be the total flight time.

11 s
