On the diagram below, what percentage of energy (from the choices in blue on the left) is transferred from a producer to a: (A) secondary consumer, (B) tertiary consumer, (C) quaternary consumer? the percentages are 0.1, 1.0, and 0.01

btw there is no diagram

OpenStudy (wach):

Do you have any premonitions about this?

OpenStudy (stephstar101):

I'm going to attempt to contribute by saying that going up the food chain from producers, each additional group will absorb less energy than the previous level. So secondary absorbs the most and quaternary absorbs the least in this case.

OpenStudy (wach):

^ Each 'level' of the food chain, you 'lose' energy, and typically only 10% of the full energy of resource makes it to the 'next level'. Diagram : http://im.glogster.com/media/5/20/38/74/20387412.gif
