5x - 2y = 10 so we want y to be on one side so we will have to +2y on both sides 5x -2y + 2y = 10 + 2y 5x = 10 + 2y now we have to minus 10 on both sides 5x - 10 = 10 -10 + 2y 5x - 10 = 2y now we are going to rewrite it 2y = 5x - 10 this is same as the previous step but just swapping them around y = 5/2 - 10/2 divide both sides by 2 y = 5/2x - 5
lets try an easier sample, say 2x + y = 1, and rearrange into the form on y= mx + c
slope is \[\frac{5}{2}\]
