how many different one-to-one correspondences could be listed between the vertices of two regular triangles and the vertices of two regular n-gons?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

anyone knows what this means?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

one-to-one correspondence means, every element of one set is paired with exactly one element of the other set, and every element of the other set is paired with exactly one element of the first set. (There are no unpaired elements.)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bijection

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

here, First set : vertices of first triangle : {A1, B1, C1} Second set : vertices of second triangle : {A2, B2, C2}

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

you need to pair all the 3 elements in First set to all the 3 elements in Second set - one-to-one

Ok Im confuse but let me see if I can just understand all this info. Thanks

Okay :) just have a look at the wiki page. look at the pix on right top. it shows one-to-one correspondence relation think of that relation as, two triangle vertices one
