@alexis95 What is your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i get an example of a poem that fits to what is asked?

OpenStudy (jagatuba):

No, because that would be doing your homework for you, but I can give you examples of poems by famous authors that illustrate what the assignment is looking for. You can use hyperbole to humorous effect. Tex Ritter uses it all throughout his song Rye Whiskey: It's a whiskey, rye whiskey, rye whiskey I cry If I don't get rye whiskey, well, I think I will die Or you could use absurdity. Ritter also uses this in Rye Whiskey: If the ocean was whiskey and I was a duck I'd dive to the bottom to get one sweet suck But the ocean ain't whiskey and I ain't a duck So we'll round up the cattle and then we'll get drunk Simile: O my Luve's like a red, red rose That's newly sprung in June; O my Luve's like the melodie That's sweetly played in tune. -Robert Burns Metaphor: But thy eternal summer shall not fade Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st; Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade, When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st. -William Shakespeare Personification: Hey diddle diddle the cat and the fiddle The cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such sport And the dish ran away with the spoon. -Mother Goose Imagery: The winter evening settles down With smell of steaks in passageways. Six o'clock. The burnt-out ends of smoky days. And now a gusty shower wraps The grimy scraps Of withered leaves about your feet And newspapers from vacant lots; The showers beat On broken blinds and chimney-pots, And at the corner of the street A lonely cab-horse steams and stamps. And then the lighting of the lamps. -T. S. Eliot These are all famous examples of what your teacher is looking for. Now all you have to do is come up with your own. FUN!
