IN order to write the equation of a line, you need the slope and one point...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to find the slope:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(y1 - y2)/(x1 - x2) = slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, the slope is -4/5... then, plug into y = mx + b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(since (0, 7) is one of the points, we know b = 7... the y-intercept is 0,7...) so, the equation is y = -4/5x + 7

By the way, since it is a multiple choice question, a short cut would be to plug the 2 points into each equation!! Whichever equation works for the 2 points is the solution!

i forgot about plugging it in, thanks mathplane
